Plus Size Halloween Costumes 2010

I just got an invitation from my best friend who’s hosting a big Halloween party. Of course, the guests are expected to be in their best costumes. If she was someone else, I would surely decline the invitation. I hate costume parties because I have a very hard time finding a costume that would look good on me. I used to be a size 8, but after giving birth to three children, I am now a size 14. Shopping for clothes has now become a frustrating and even humiliating experience for me. And although all shopping malls have plus-sized clothes and I can find something that fits me, the clothes in this section of the store are not as pretty as regular sized ones. Even if there are posh looking pieces, they would be really expensive.

I phoned my best friend and told her that I am not comfortable with the idea of coming to her party in a costume. I told her that If I try to pull off something by myself, it would probably end up looking lame. On the other hand, if I go to the mall and try to look for a costume, there huge is a possibility that I won’t find something that looks great but isn’t that expensive. I told my friend that I might not be able to come to her party after all. My friend immediately dismissed my idea of not coming to her party. She said that if I went through with that thought, it would be the end of our friendship. My friend told me that I can always check the internet for plus-sized costumes. Since I am not really into online shopping, I was not very receptive of her idea. However, since I don’t want out friendship to be jeopardized because of a silly Halloween party, I followed her advice and went online.

I started my search by entering the keyword plus size costumes. And to my surprise there were a lot of websites offering costumes in big sizes! I was really excited to see what these websites had to offer. I bookmarked all of the sites that sold plus-sized Halloween costumes and browsed each one of them. After an hour or so, I saw 2 or 3 costumes that had some potential, but they still didn’t feel right. Then I stumbled upon a website called www.buycostumes.com.
